Yesterday:
I didn’t realize, until I took the picture, how many circles there were in the picture!
- Pancake: Bartlett pears, wheatberries, oatmeal, cinnamon, vanilla extract, rice milk + strawberry yogurt on top
- In the bowl: glutinous rice balls, red beans + millet + pearl barley, more strawberry yogurt
- In the cup: rice milk + 2% milk
Best breakfast I’ve had so far! It was just enough to keep me full. For some reason, I’m extra hungry when I come home for the holidays!

Putting wheatberries in the pancake made the whole thing much more chewy–which, by the way, is awesome.
And rice balls + yogurt = BEST THING EVER. Maybe I should bring a bag of glutinous rice flour back to school!
In the afternoon:
hazelnut mocha.
I’m still a little jet lag so I need this to stay awake! This is going to be so disastrous for me when I go back to school…
Have been doing a lot of snow shovelling–I’m pretty sure altogether there’s been about 2-3 feet of snow, which is more snow than I have ever seen in my life! Driving is absolutely horrible since I keep getting stuck in the driveway!
Check out the backyard!
Now imagine the pool completely covered with snow, it was pretty much level with the ground at one point! Wish I had gotten a picture of that…
Anywhoo–out to lunch soon!

I actually ended up having a second all-nighter after the first [well...I did sleep for about 4.5 hours...so I guess it's an all-night wannabe
]…the inner workings of yeast turned me into a zombie for two days…
Nov 5
- mandarin oranges, pineapple, milk, flax, PB
Lunch:
Corn, peas, peppers, eggs, chickpeas, kidney beans, hummus sandwich
Corn~<3. I kinda want to bring out the veggie oatmeal again~but no time to go grocery shopping! [the store's like...half an hour away D: ]
- mango, papaya, pears, pineapples, PB, milk, flax, cinnamon, ground ginger
It’s canned fruits, just so you know
No way I would have had access to real papayas and mangoes! Although I wouldn’t have any objections if the caf decides to bring that stuff out
Lunch:
Broccoli, cauliflower, hummus sandwich
Caffeine:
This is like fore-shadowing…I haven’t drank coffee in the afternoon since first year..
Nov 7
- pears, walnuts, cocoa, cinnamon, ground ginger, milk, flax
+ orange spice white tea. I don’t like the dried orange peel smell, but the tea didn’t taste bad or anything~
My awesome dinner:
Jasmine rice, black beans, zucchini, ,red pepper, carrots, mushrooms, ginger hoisin sauce
LOVE jasmine rice! It smells even better than normal rice–which I didn’t think was possible until I took a whiff~and that is why food is so awesome
[other than the fact that y'know...we need it to live]
I originally planned on going to the gym today…but I don’t feel like it…so maybe I won’t go
I have a commerce assignment due tomorrow anyway~

I wanted coffee but I didn’t think I need to be any more agitated
Pre-midterm snack:
Free Kashi bars from the cafeteria! Got the coupon in the mail–I also got a free coffee mug! This is why living in residence is awesome

Surprisingly, I was full on this…and it didn’t really even look like much~weird.

This is from how long ago?!
October 5 [last Sunday!]
It’s just a hole in the middle of an english muffin
- oatmeal, pear, flax, milk, water, coconut, walnuts
It was quite tricky to eat out of
But it’s fun to look at!
Dinner:
Broccoli, spinach, chickpeas, kidney beans, brown rice, rice vinegar, and rice seasoning. I think I also had an egg to go with this–but I forgot about it until the end!
Question: When you use the weight machines at the gym–what do you guys normally use? I started playing around with weights on Sunday and it was fun! So gimme some tips, yo
Oatmeal #114: Orange Pekoe September 24, 2008

At least I think it is…
Monday:
- oats, flax, walnuts
- milk & water
- 1 pear, mashed!
- 7 longans
- 1 cup orange pekoe [?] tea
The reason I don’t know is ’cause I was running out of different kinds of tea and had to resort to taking things from the caf
And they didn’t have the tea bags in the package, so I have no clue what this is! It smells like orange pekoe? But it could have been red or black tea….?
It was so exciting ’cause the oats were heated enough for me to do banana-oatmeal-style thing with the pears! Pear oatmeal = awesome. I think any type of mushy fruit mashed into oatmeal = awesome, actually
Anyway–I think so far, Earl Grey is still the most flavorful!
Post-gym snack:
Sorry for the visual grossness?
- 0.5 cup mocha
- 1 packet instant cereal
- 1 tbsp quick oats
- 2 tbsp Kellogg’s Just Right cereal
- 1 banana
- lots of boiled water and a splash of milk
It’s like having two breakfasts
Lunch Part II:
Vanilla yogurt, peach, Kellogg’s Just Right cereal , lots of cinnamon
It’s part II ’cause we got free food at the anti-food-wasting pledge signing! But I was so nervous about eating when so many people could watch me [they probably weren't--but I'm paranoid] that I didn’t end up eating more than an english muffin + baba ghanoush, and some veggies & beans
And aaah I can’t believe this is the 3rd week of classes already…how is this possible?! Although I’m not complaining ’cause that means winter vacation will arrive in no time!

Wednesday’s Breakfast:
[wow--it's been a while since I updated!]
Contents:
- oats, flax, walnuts
- water, milk
- 1 peach
- 2 tsp black sesame paste powder
- 2 tsp almond pudding powder
![]()
The powder combo! Two very flavorful flavors combined together = exciting! Their aromas are also very prominent, so it’s like you get even more flavor via retronasal tasting or whatever that’s called!
It’s like sesame-almond ice cream….ohmgawd!
Post-gym snack:
That’s PB&B&CC! Guess what CC stands for
[answer at end of entry!]
Thursday:
Haven’t had pears in a while–so I used some! I really really need to go back to cooking my oats so I can mash the pears like I did before! As convenient as muesli is, you start to miss cooked oats after a bit~
Contents:
- oats, flax, walnuts
- water & milk
- 1 pear, 2 tbsp goji berries
- 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa
Dinner:
Peach yogurt & cottage cheese & apple & shreddies & PB! Very exciting mix of flavors, aka my new addiction–have been eating this everyday!
And if you haven’t guessed…CC = cottage cheese!
Aah I’ve been headaching all morning D: I’m inclined to blame it on the fact that I had tea instead of coffee this morning…but I normally have like…half a cup of coffee??? So would missing that really have this much of an effect…?
