Um wow I have been missing for a while! But since I’ve got a lab report due tomorrow, I figured it was the perfect time to be lazy!

Nov 28

Before:

[note that only half remained  ]

After:

My favorite pancake combo to date!

It was the last day of classes–so I figured a celebration was in order!

  • 0.5 white chocolate & macadamia nut cookie, 0.5 banana, flax, oats, cottage cheese, PB

Loaded with awesomeness!

Best part? The cookie melted into the batter! Excitement!

Lunch:

Cinnamon raisin english muffin, turkey breast, beans, carrots

Snack:

English muffin, PB, apple, and tea!

I can’t remember if this was for an all-nighter or not. It probably was though. Probably for commerce.

Nov 29

Breakfast:

Kashi golean cereal, milk, cinnamon, and apples.

Dinner:

Cod, broccoli, jam, english muffin.

Exactly one week to go until I am not at school!

Experiment #11: Blueberry Oatmeal Scones April 27, 2008

Scones! They’re supposed to be blue & white…but then I forgot and mixed all the wet ingredients together in one bowl -.-” My brilliance astound me.

But they still tastes good! They weren’t as sweet as I was hoping they’d be, but I remedied that by slicing the scones up and putting some banana slices in between. Bananas = the best natural sweetener! Still, I think I’ll use at least half of the banana next time.

Recipe!
Makes 6 large scones – 97 kcal each!

  • 0.875 cup flour
  • 0.33 cup oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp applesauce
  • 0.25 small, mashed banana
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1.25 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup blueberries – I mashed some, and left some as they were
  • 3 tbsp plain yogurt
  • Preheat oven to 375F
Mix dry ingredients in one bowl, wet ingredients in another. Don’t add the lemon juice yet.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Add lemon juice. Stir!
Scoop wooden spoonfuls of the batter onto parchment paper/baking mat.
    Bake for 20 mins.

I also baked some scones for the grad students at the lab I’m working at:

I used sugar and stuff like normal people would XD I made chocolate scones ’cause I didn’t know if they liked blueberries, but there’s no way anyone wouldn’t like chocolate! I had a little taste of the scones and they were pretty good, if I do say so myself 😀 And I was surprised at how quickly these were done baking! Awesome.

It was pretty messy work making these things. The batter was all mushy and stuff, so the stuff got all over my hands 😛

My second last cafeteria brunch! This wasn’t really an experiment, so it doesn’t have its own post. Still tastes good though! I really need to find a place in Kingston that sells Greek yogurt, ’cause I love this stuff.

Oh…speaking of buying stuff…so far I’ve spent $80 on groceries D: I have never spent so much money on something before! And the thing is, I still need to make another trip! How much do you guys normally spend on groceries?

Consists of:

  • 0.175 cups plain yogurt
  • 1 small chocolate cookie
  • 2 slices canned peaches
  • caf oatmeal

Had it yesterday. It was goood. I didn’t actually eat it like shown up there, ’cause I would have made a complete mess :p But it was fun to play with my food :p

It was totally awesome, the cafeteria always makes such sweet cookies, so putting it in the oatmeal brought the sweetness down by a lot, and it smelled great too. Kinda like those chinese chocolate flavored steamed buns. And the cookies gave the whole thing some crunchiness, and the melted chocolate was just alkdkkalksjdfakl;sdjf. This is my favorite combination so far.

I couldn’t resist getting another bowl:

Pretty much the same thing as above, just one ring of canned pineapple. The caf had no more canned peaches 😦

That was the perfect pre-exam meal! Although I’m kinda running out of oatmeal ideas, ’cause there’s only so much stuff in the caf to mix together :p Can’t wait til summer so I can try out some more different things~
