Oatmeal #82: Bean Brownie Oatmeal
I made black bean brownies before and thought they were pretty good–if the right amount of sugar was added–and so this was born!
I was a little scared that it would taste bitter again, since the only “sugar” I added was half a banana–but it turned out to be enough! [I used black beans and adzuki beans, by the way]
And this mess was dinner:
Grrr I meant to make a frittatatatata–not ground-pork-like substance! Too much veggies, not enough egg! π¦
The rice was good though π I flavored it with rice vinegar and some Japanese rice seasoning.

Muesli
Well I thought that I was going running yesterday so I made this…I should have known better! Didn’t wake up til 6: 05 a.m. so there was no time for my morning run…not unless I wanted to rush afterwards…so I didn’t go…-sigh-
Anyway, I threw together some goji berries, blackberries, and corn muesli on Sunday night, stuck it in the fridge, and it was good π The blackberries got all mushy though–probably ’cause they were frozen.
Well–off to run in about 1 hour 15 minutes!
I want to try rice vinegar on my rice. How much should I put in a serving? What is Japanese rice seasoning?

For 0.25 cup of rice, I use 1 tsp–it tastes like a lot at first, but the vinegar taste seem to gradually disappear into the rice for me, so I use that amount π
And the rice seasoning is this packet that my mom bought for me…it’s the green and brown stuff on my rice in the picture. I guess look for it in the “asian” section of your grocery stores?
You never cease to amaze me with your oatmeal experiments – love ’em! :0)

It’s crazy how many things could go together and taste good. I would never be able to experiment with a combo like brown rice oatmeal or even brownies and black beans.
I really need to make black bean brownies. They sound like they would be really good and I see them all over the place now. It’s like they are haunting me or something…
No, that would just make me insane.
